Sliding Doors Installation



1. Sizing Tracks:

Cut Top and Bottom Track to Opening Width. Measure the width of the top of your opening. Using a set square mark a straight line accross the TOP TRACK (A). Measeure the width of the base of your opening. Mark a corresponding line accross the BOTTOM TRACK (B). Then Cut the tracks using a fine tooth hacksaw.

2. Fix Track To Top Of Opening

Position the TOP TRACK - normally a minimum of 610mm (24") from the back wall. When correctly positioned, drill and plug the ceiling as required and fix with scews provided.
Position Bottom Track Lay BOTTOM TRACK roughly in position under TOP TRACK.

3. Attaching Bottom Wheels (if necessary)

Identify bottom of door and take Bottom Wheels and push into corner brackets.

4. Positioning Doors

If installing Panel Doors in combination with Mirror Doors it is usual to locate the Panel Doors to the back and the Mirror Doors to the front of the track.

5. Inserting Doors To Top Track

Install doors with the bottom of the door slanting out at about 15° (see right). Lift door to locate TOP GUIDES into the TOP TRACK then support door while lowering BOTTOM WHEELS into the BOTTOM TRACK.
Note: A safety feature prevents insertion or removal of TOP GUIDES from TOP TRACK in the vertical position.

6. Fix Bottom Track

With a second person holding the door, place a spirit level on its face and carefully slide the BOTTOM TRACK in or out until the door is vertical (see right). Mark the position of the FLOOR TRACK on the wall. Repeat this process with the door against the opposite wall. When both doors are vertical fix the BOTTOM TRACK to the floor with the screws provided. Drill and plug solid floors as required.

7. Adjusting Doors

Align DOORS plumb to side walls. Adjust BOTTOM WHEELS to alter the height and angle of each door. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, correct door alignment with the screw adjuster attached to the BOTTOM WHEELS. Turn the screww clockwise to lower the door and anti-clockwise to raise the doors by adjusting both left and right wheels up and down as required.

8. Engaging Anti-Jump Clips

A - ROTATE anti-jump clip into open position.
B - PUSH anti-jump clip fully down into track.
C - ROTATE anti-jump clip back to closed position

To disengage anti-jump clip - reverse procedure. Note: In the unlikely event of anti-jump clip becoming detached during engagement, simply snap it back into original position shown in drawing A.

It may be a good idea to include ventilation holes at the top and bottom of the wardrobe, especially if the house is old and does not have cavity walls. There can be build up of moisture in the wall, from the room or even damp clothes. This will support the growth of mildew if the cupboard is not well ventilated.
